The Saville Community Sports Centre (SCSC) is a 32516 m2 multi-sport facility managed and operated by the Faculty of Physical Education and Recreation. The facility is named after Edmonton businessman and philanthropist Bruce Saville who contributed substantially to both construction phases.
The recent addition of the West wing completed in September 2011, and donated to the University of Alberta by the GO Sports partners: Edmonton Grads Youth Basketball Association, Ortona Gymnastics and the Edmonton Volleyball Association, represents the tireless efforts of these partners to realise a dream to build a place that would welcome athletes of all abilities to play sport, learn new skills, practice true gamesmanship and reach their athletic potential.
The Centre is the home of the Golden Bears and Pandas basketball, curling, tennis and volleyball teams, and houses the Canadian Curling Association National Training Centre, Tennis Canada High Performance Tennis Development Centre, and Team Ortona Gymnastics.
It provides programming and services to sport enthusiasts at all levels, from recreational athletes to Olympic champions.
