TORONTO (2015 Pan American Games) - The Semi-Finals of Women's Basketball at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, were configured as Canada vs. Brazil and the USA vs. Cuba, after the conclusion of the first round.

On the last day of the Preliminary Round, the United States and Puerto Rico showed parity for three quarters, but in the final quarter USA showed their dominance and won the quarter, 26-13, to take the win, 93-77 and ensure their space in the Semi-Finals.

For its part, Brazil dominated from start to finish the Dominican Republic, to gain a spot in the games for the medals. The final score was 73-54.

In the other group, the champions of the 2013 FIBA Americas C’ship, Cuba, faced the host the Pan American Games and the 2015 FIBA Americas C’ship, Canada. With three quarters done, Lisa Thomaidis team had a lead of 12 points.

Already in the last quarter, the Cuban began to discount, but the Canadians kept their pace and stayed on top of the scoreboard for the win, 71-68, and qualified to the Semi-Finals, with the top spot of Group B.

In the other game of Group B, Argentina dominated Venezuela from the opening tip until the final whistle to take the win, 87-68.
