A total of 17 outstanding basketball personalities from 12 different countries will be inducted into the FIBA Hall of Fame on 12 September during the 2010 FIBA World Championship Basketball in Istanbul, FIBA announced today.

ARG - 'El loco' Ibañez dies at 74 years of age: -
Oscar Delfor Ibañez, nicknamed "el loco" and "Mago" died on Thursday in Neuquen, Argentina after a cardiopulmonary arrest. Ibañez was a former player of Deportivo San Andrés and a coach of the minor leagues.

USA - Pippen, Malone, Dream Team enter the Hall of Fame: -
The members of the 1992 Olympic champions joined Bird on stage Friday at Symphony Hall, the final inductees of the night. Paraguay played hard in the first game but fell short to Puerto Rico by two points but on day two they surprised Brazil 107-100 in overtime to get a historic win in the Super 4 played in Salta, Argentina.

During the South American Championship held in Neiva, Colombia, FIBA-Americas presented the book 'Basketball in South America', written by the journalist Alejandro Perez. The book has all the history from the South American Championship, Men and Women, since 1930.
