USA finished undefeated and captured gold at the 2009 FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Women played in Mexico City.
 USA/CAN - United States and Canada qualify for FIBA U17 World Championship for Women: -
United States and Canada qualified for the 2010 FIBA U17 World Championship for Women by winning in the semifinals of the FIBA Americas U16 Championship for Women played in Mexico City. Argentina and Brazil will play for Bronze and the last berth in the World Championship.
