Rules Corner
A basketball organization, whether local, national or international, is only as strong as its ability to communicate effectively with the players, teams, coaches, officials and others who make up its membership. Many such associations fail because the membership is not properly educated and informed on a regular basis about what is happening in their sport, not only in their own zone but around the world.
Question: A3 has not pass the ball to the front court when he stops his drible in the centre line in a straddilng position , he lost control of the ball (fumble) and control the ball again. Is this a violation? Answer: Yes. Once A3 ends his dribble and is holding the ball while straddling the centre line, the ball is in the frontcourt, although A3 is touching both courts because he is straddling.

Question: B5 fouls on A5 This is the 4th team fouls for team B. Referee corrects an error by giving A5 two free throws
A5 scores two points from free throw line. After team B throw-in, referee calls a held ball between B1 and A1. At this time, the error is discovered.
If team B entitled to the alternating possession, how to resume the game?
Thank you for your patience to read my question.Answer: THE FREE THROWS SHOULD B CANCELED, THEN THE BALL GOES TO B TEAM FOR A THROW IN CLOSE TO PLACE WHERE THE CORRECTABLE ERROR WAS DISCOVERED.

Question: According to the article 17.2.6 the player making the throw-in, may moves freely behind the endline? in any direction, speed or distance? is restricted by any extention of the restricted area?
I have this discution for a long time with some friend referees so i wait for your answer with anxiety
I hope you can understand my poor english thanks!Answer: The player making the throw-in may step back from the boundary line, or may move parallel to the boundary line in one or both directions for a distance of no more than approximately one metre. If the throw-in is at an endline following a successful final free throw or a field goal, the thrower-in may move along that endline for any distance in either direction, provided the throw-in is released before five seconds has passed. He may even pass the ball to a teammate who is also out-of-bounds at that endline, provided no more than five seconds passes before the final inbound pass is made.

Question: Assuming all three points have touched the frontcourt and the offensive team A has control, does a ball have to be touched first by a Team A player in the backcourt to be considered illegally returned to the backcourt?(over and back) Or is it blown dead as soon as the ball touches any part of the backcourt?(Potentially taking away a team B fast break)
Thank you for your clarificationAnswer: Team A must be the last to touch the ball before it left the frontcourt and the first to touch the ball after it has returned to the backcourt
