Wei - TAIWAN (#565 de 566) 5/16/2009
Question:
B4 fouls A4 and this is team B's fifth team foul. Erroneousley, A4 is not awarded two free throws but a throw in. After the throw-in, A2 passes the ball but stolen by B2, then B2 shoots but the ball does not enter the basket.A5 gets the rebound and passes to A1 who shoots and scores two points for fast break. Before the ball has been placed at the disposal of taking the throw-in, the officials recognize the correctable error,
should the error be disregarded ?
Answer:
Yes. A4 is awarded two free throws. Play resumes with a team B throw-in as after any normal field goal.

Wandi - ESTADOS UNIDOS (#564 de 566) 2/20/2009
Question:
A3 has not pass the ball to the front court when he stops his drible in the centre line in a straddilng position , he lost control of the ball (fumble) and control the ball again. Is this a violation?
Answer:
Yes. Once A3 ends his dribble and is holding the ball while straddling the centre line, the ball is in the frontcourt, although A3 is touching both courts because he is straddling.

This is the 4th team fouls for team B.

carlos - CHILE (#562 de 566) 1/15/2009
Question:
According to the article 17.2.6 the player making the throw-in, may moves freely behind the endline? in any direction, speed or distance?
is restricted by any extention of the restricted area?

I have this discution for a long time with some friend referees so i wait for your answer with anxiety

I hope you can understand my poor english
thanks!
Answer:
The player making the throw-in may step back from the boundary line, or may move parallel to the boundary line in one or both directions for a distance of no more than approximately one metre. If the throw-in is at an endline following a successful final free throw or a field goal, the thrower-in may move along that endline for any distance in either direction, provided the throw-in is released before five seconds has passed. He may even pass the ball to a teammate who is also out-of-bounds at that endline, provided no more than five seconds passes before the final inbound pass is made.
