Luiz Augusto Zanon is the new coach of the Brazilian Adult Women. The name Zanon was confirmed as Head Coach on Thursday (day 28) by the Technical Director of the Brazilian Confederation of Basketball (CBB), Vanderlei Mazzuchini. At 49 (17/06/1963), Zanon will direct the first time a national team and replace Luiz Claudio Tarallo, who had the contract ended in December.

"I confess I did not expect this invitation now. I can assure you is a pleasure and a privilege to be the coach of the Brazilian team. We have hard work ahead of us and all conditions to again put Brazil among the top four in the world. It is a challenge that we can win, "said American coach, who will give a press conference after the Women's Basketball League.

Besides the South American Championship in the month June, the Brazilian team's main goal season in 2013 winning a seat to the World Championship in Turkey in 2014.

"We are beginning a cycle that ends in the Olympic Games Rio 2016. In the South American Championship, scheduled for June, the goal is to maintain the hegemony of the continent. Copa America in Mexico in September, the goal is to get the title and vacancy for the World Cup, "said Zanon, who was the first basketball coach to win both in males and females, and the Brazilian Paulista Championships.
