MEX – Ayon looks forward to Spain 2014

Despite being heavy underdogs, Mexico's men's national team made history in Caracas this past summer. After beating the likes of Argentina, Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic, the squad coached by Sergio Valdeolmillos surprised many in claiming their first gold medal at the FIBA Americas Championship in Venezuela to qualify for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup, having failed to feature in FIBA's flagship event since 1974.
