CHI/ECU - Chile finishes in seventh place after beating Ecuador:

NEIVA (2010 South American Championship) - Chile finished in seventh place of the South American Championship after dominating Ecuador 88-70.

Both teams lost their first four games and on this day the dominance inside by Chile was key in the win.

The Chileans won the first quarter 22-14 with 7 points from Patricio Briones and 6 from Erik Carrasco.

The first half ended 42-29 as the offense by Briones and Evandro Arteaga kept the Chileans with the lead.

In the second half Jose Diaz of Ecuador made 23 of his 30 points but that wasn't enough to bring Ecuador into the game.

In the win Evandro Arteaga had 18 points and Gonzalo Velasquez 15.
