LSBF2012- Day of competitive games

Quito, Ecuador- The third day of South American Championship Women's Clubs, allowed the Brazilian team ADCF Unimed continue with their undefeated 3-0 in an amazing game against Argentine club Lanus.

The day began with the clash between Regatas Lima (PER) and Club Malvin (URU), whom didn’t have a favorable outcome at the end of the game.  The Uruguayans started losing in the first half 30-17, and even in the second half they didn’t allow any advantage by Ecuadorians, 26-26, the first set was crucial to give the victory to Regatas Lima at the end, 56-43. With this defeat, Club Malvin finished the night with 0-3 in sixth place.  Regatas Lima had a defensive Zuleira Aties with 19 points and 11 rebounds. While on Club Malvin, Florencia Somma scored 11 points and 2 rebounds.

The evening continued with a game that produced double-digit lead in the first half with a strong attack from ADCF Unimed (BRA) against Lanus (ARG). The Brazilian opened and closed the battle with a wide lead scored of 72 points against the 44 of the Uruguayan group. The Brazilian had four players scoring in double figures. Clarissa Dos Santos was the best scorer of the night, shooting 16 points and 10 rebounds. For Lanus, Agostina Burani produced 12 points and 3 rebounds. With this victory Unimed is the only team to remain unbeaten with the score 3-0 in their favor.

Meanwhile, the last game of the night was the most competitive of all, with the confrontation between Ourinhos (BRA) and UTE Ecuador. The Brazilian showed a high level of attack that produced in the final match a score 77-71.  Winning the first half 41-37. The night became even more interesting in the third quarter when UTE team seems recovered 23-14, but that defense wasn’t enough for an impressive return of Ourinhos in the final quarter 11-22. Ourinhos had four hits players who scored in double figures. For Brazil, the best scorer of the night was Patricia De Oliveira with 25 points and 6 rebounds. As well, Angélica Robinson also had a great night with 25 points and 7 rebounds.

In this fourth day of games, Lanus faces Club Malvin early, Ourinhos defends his squad in the second game against Regatas Lima, and UTE play against ADCF Unimed at the end of the day.
