PAR/COL - Paraguay dominates Colombia to finish fifth:
7/31/2010

NEIVA (2010 South American Championship) - Paraguay crushed Colombia 86-66 to finish fifth in the South American Championship played in Neiva.

The Paraguayans won their first game against Chile 76-72 and then dominated Ecuador 89-45 to play for fifth place. Their losses were against Uruguay and Brazil.

A spectacular offensive attack from long distance, where they made nine three pointers, left Paraguay up at halftime 56-32. Guillermo Araújo had 16 points, Bruno Zanotti 12 and Daniel Perez 11 for Paraguay.

Even with their lack of offense in the second half, the Paraguayan defense controlled shooter Stalin Ortiz and the Colombians never recovered. The offense from Enrique Javier Martínez along with the bench players kept Paraguay on top.

Guillermo Araujo had 20 points and Daniel Perez 19 for Paraguay.

In the loss Norbey Aragon led with 20 points.
