SUDCLUBS - La Estancia defeated Malvin in a duel of undefeated teams

The team led by Evelio Cano defeated the team led by Juan Pablo Serdio by 99-70 at the start of the second day of the South American Championship for Women’s Clubs. Both teams had won on their debut. The Colombian are close to qualifying. Toccara Ross stood out with 21 points.

At the start of the game were the perimeter players took the leading role in the outcome of actions. On the side of Uruguayan mostly from the hand Jordan Smith and for the Colombian with Yaneth Arias and Jennifer Munoz , initially both teams had a lot of parity.

In the second half of the opening quarter, La Estancia began to assert their game and the importance of their transcending players seven scoring points, starting to make a difference on the scoreboard, while on the Uruguayan side the work of Lady Comfort on the paint was not enough.

The first minutes of the second quarter had the same tint as the initial, low scoring, inaccuracies, losses and bad decisions, with the Colombian team having the best advantage of the situation.

Toccara Ross marked differences in the Colombian inner game, while Smith and Comfort were still the most popular for the Uruguayan attack. The team led by Evelio Cano was much more compact in defense and had brighter attacks than their opponent, which allowed them to reach the long break winning, 51-35.

As in prior quarters, the beginning of the second half showed a decrease in the scoring of both teams and the level of play, but it was always La Estancia who took the initiative in the collation and was progressively increasing the difference in scoreboard.

The Colombian coach Evelio Cano, taking advantage of having a considerable lead in their favor, began to rotate his squad completely and entered the fourth quarter with a 23 lead (77-54).

In the fourth quarter, Malvin burned the last ships, but could not realize the attempted comeback to reduce the disadvantage. Finally, the victory went to La Estancia de Popayan 99-70, Toccara Ross being the most outstanding player in the winner with 21 points.
