In front of a full arena, in what until today was an exciting end of the season, the teams of Papito Team and Pito Barber put on the uniforms and demonstrated this new discipline that prepares to seize the capital the next week.

The FIBA 3x3 World Tour is the pinnacle event of the discipline around the world, the 2013 edition already started on July 20 and 21 in Tokyo, qualifying the team, Nagoya and Jakarta to the finals to be held on October 4 and 5 in Istanbul.

"There are more than 7,000 people out there. It’s an atmosphere of Finals; the opportunity to play with that many people, in this type of arena is something that does not happen every day.” Said Jairas Morales, of Papito Team after the demonstration in Quebradillas. "The important thing is that we went out there and demonstrated the 3x3 before this great audience, and we were applauded".

The event in San Juan, classifies two more teams to the finals, and awards $ 10,000 for the winning team. It will be a spectacle of the highest standard, incorporating a variety of traditional attractions of street basketball, with a renewed discipline by FIBA that is seekingto maximize the virtues of the sport in this environment.

Simple and entertaining at the same time, the 3x3 format is preferred in recreational basketball courts all around the world. Promotional activity is of immense value for basketball practice, also increasing the off-season tournaments.

FIBA wishes to strengthen its growth and increase the number of players and fans through the structuring and development of “3x3 basketball” worldwide. In view of its successful debut at the 2010 Olympic Youth Games, held in Singapore, the most important goal is that the 3x3 will become a new discipline to be included, at the 2020 Olympic Games.

The 3x3 is played with two teams of 3 players and a basket. The game is played to 21 points or until the expiration of 10 minutes. Each team has 12 seconds to score.
