Guaros de Lara is the 2016 DIRECTV Liga de las Americas Champion
3/14/2016 -  Venezuelan basketball is still on a roll. This past weekend Guaros de Lara became the first club in the country to win the DIRECTV Liga de las Americas by defeating defending champion Bauru 84-79 in the finale.

2/21/2016 -  The Defending champions of the DIRECTV Liga de las Americas, secured their spot in the definition of the continental league, after defeating Quimsa of Argentina, 73-63.
#LDA2016 - Mogi das Cruzes is the first to qualify for the Final 4
2/21/2016 -  Mogi das Cruzes secured a spot in the Final 4 of the DIRECTV Liga de las Americas, after defeating Malvin of Uruguay, 77-57.
#LDA2016 – Mogi defeated the Defending Champs
2/20/2016 -  Mogi das Cruzes defeated the defending champions of the DIRECTV Liga de las Americas, Bauru, 75-66, thus giving the host of the first semifinal group their first loss in two editions of the continental league.
#LDA2016 - Quimsa won and now waits
2/20/2016 -  Argentina’s National League Champion, Quimsa defeated the Champion of Uruguay, Malvin, 75-56, to capture its second win of the Semifinal Round. Now, the team coached by Silvio Santander, awaits for the result of the match between Mogi and Bauru, to see if they qualified today for the Final Four of the DIRECTV Liga de las Americas.

2/19/2016 -  In a game that Bauru controlled from the opening tip, Malvin closed the gap in the final quarter, but time expired and the victory belonged to the host, 89-77.

2/19/2016 -  In a match decided on the final play, Quimsa defeated Mogi das Cruzes, 69-67, marking the beginning of the DIRECTV Liga de las Americas Semifinal Round.

2/19/2016 -  The day is here, the first semifinal group of the 2016 DIRECTV Liga de las Americas tips-off tonight in Bauru, Brasil. Argentina’s Quimsa, Brazil’s Mogi das Cruzes, Uruguay’s Malvin and host Bauru will battle for two spots to the competition’s Final Four championship tournament.

2/15/2016 -  Quimsa of Argentina is for the second time in history, in the second round of the Liga de las Americas and this time the team led by Silvio Santander will have to travel to Bauru, where they will seek to take a qualification to the Final Four of the Continental League.

2/12/2016 -  BAHAMAS (Americas) - The Annual Assembly of the Caribbean Basketball Confederation a Sub-Sub-Zone of FIBA took place over the weekend in Paradise Island, Bahamas and under the hospitality of the Bahamas Basketball Federation, with important steps taken to prepare national federations for the continent's new competition system 2017.

2/12/2016 -  After finishing unbeaten the first stage of the DIRECTV Liga de las Americas, the defending champions will bet on home-field advantage during the semifinal stage of the continental league.
 
Bauru and Barquisimeto will host the Semifinals of the 2016 DIRECTV Liga de las Americas
2/10/2016 -  The first semi-final, to be played from February 19-21, will be played at the Panela de Presao in Bauru, Brazil and will include the participation of Argentina’s Quimsa, Brazil’s Mogi das Cruzes and Uruguay’s Malvin, and the host, Bauru. The second semi-final, to be played from February 26-28, will be played at the Domo Bolivariano de Barquisimeto, Venezuela, with the participation of Brazil’s Flamengo and UniCEUB, Correcaminos of Panama and the host Guaros Lara.
