CENTROBASKET14 – Puerto Rico won, will play for the Gold-Medal and classified to the Pan American Games

The National Team commanded by Gerardo Batista defeated the national Team of US Virgin Islands by 68-51 and secured a place in the final of Centrobasket Championship in Monterrey and one of the three tickets to the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto. Carla Cortijo was the best player of the match.


CENTROBASKET14 - Jamaica and Mexico will play for fifth place

The team coached by Elsa Hayashi and the one coached by Simone Edwards defeated El Salvador and Costa Rica, respectively, as a result they will meet tomorrow to determine the fifth place of the 2014 Centrobasket Championship for Women.

Uruguay, Argentina, Brasil and the hosts Venezuela dominated their opponents in the first day of competition of the 2014 South American Championship being played in Isla de Margarita.


CENTROBASKET14 – Puerto Rico dominated Mexico and got in the Semi-Finals

The Puerto Ricans had a big third quarter to finish the aspirations of the locals. The team led by Gerardo Batista secured the first place of Group A and qualified for the semifinals and to the 2015 FIBA Americas Championship for Women. Sandra Garcia and Carla Cortijo were the figures of the winners.


CENTROBASKET14 – Dominican Republic with a great performance in the last minutes, took the win over Costa Rica

The National Team that is led by Ariel Portuondo defeated Costa Rica, 60-44. Thus, the Caribbean team left virtually assured their qualification for the semifinals. Andreina Paniagua was the leading scorer with 17 points.
