#FIBAAmericasWomen2015 – Venezuela held off Virgin Islands for a victory

EDMONTON (2015 FIBA Americas Championship) – In the closest game so far in the FIBA Americas Women’s Championship, Venezuela found another level in the last quarter, to held off the challenge from the Virgin Islands, and take the victory, 69 – 62.

• Turning Point: Led offensively by Silva, Venezuela took the lead on the last quarter and closed better the game to defeat Wilo Colon’s team.

• Stats don’t lie: Venezuela had a better shooting performance, with a 44 percent from the field and a 38 percent from long range.

• Game Hero: Roselis Silva was huge for the Venezuelans, accumulating 31 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals.

• The Bottom Line: After a hard defeat on the first day of the FIBA Americas Women’s Championship, Oscar Silva’s team reconvened and leveled their record at one, in a Group B matchup. Tomorrow, Venezuela will have a rest day, while the Virgin Islands will have a tough challenge against Argentina.
