#FIBAAmericasWomen2015 - Excitement builds for Ecuador
by: FIBA

QUITO (2015 FIBA Americas Women's Championship) - The sense of anticipation is building for tournament rookies Ecuador ahead of their trip to Edmonton and the 2015 FIBA Americas Women's Championship.

Head coach Eduardo Pinto has picked the 12 players who will blaze a trail when the competition begins next month.

Ecuador made a return to the FIBA South American Women's Championship last year after a six-year gap as host nation and attained a fifth place finish.

Leading scorer Dayanna Salcedo will bring the ammunition having averaged an eye-catching 16.8 points per game in Ambato, thanks to her impressive inside-outside game. Her influence is further highlighted by the fact that she also led the team in rebounds and assists.

Meanwhile, Rossana Pazmino will bring the glue to the team and Daniela Mora Valdez showed plenty of valuable offensive production at last year's Odesur Games for Women in Chile.

Ecuador will play in Group B and match up against Argentina, Brazil, Venezuela and the Virgin Islands.

Ecuador roster for the 2015 FIBA Americas Women's Championship: Liliana Angulo, Anabel Barahona, Marjorie Caicedo, Flor Chum, Doris Lasso, Daniela Mora Valdez, Andrea Munoz, Edith Noblecilla, Rossana Pazmino, Jessica Preciado, Dayanna Salcedo, Maria Jose Vinueza.
